I’m Denise Bosbach, originally from Germany but now proudly considering myself a Kiwi. My journey has taken me from the heart of Germany to the shores of Australia and finally to the enchanting landscapes of New Zealand, which I’ve called home for the past 11 years. (Interesting fact: I call Germany ‘home’ when I’m in New Zealand, and vice versa when I’m in Germany.)

I’m almost 40, or something like that—99% of the time, I’ll unintentionally give the wrong age, simply because I genuinely don’t care. People around me seem to know better and remind me when I make myself younger never when I make myself older though. I’ve learned to embrace the beauty of living in the moment, caring little about the number of times the Earth has rotated around the sun since the day I was born. Though, if you’re curious, my birthdate is September 11th, 1985; feel free to do the math!

It was in New Zealand where I met my partner in crime and now husband, Mark Werner, who will play a significant role in this blog, given that we like to hang out with each other a lot. He’ll be an integral part of this blog, contributing his talents through videos, pictures, and more.

Travelling has always been my greatest passion. I’ve never hesitated to work hard, save diligently, and then spend it all on exploring the wonders of the world. While some may prefer luxurious cars, grand homes, or endless shopping sprees, my heart has always belonged to the open road and the thrill of new experiences. I’d describe myself as a free spirit, always inclined to do things a bit differently—like periodically quitting my job and throwing farewell parties (a tradition I’ve upheld since leaving Germany), all in pursuit of liberation, a challenge and new experiences.

The idea of documenting my travels through writing or vlogging has lingered in my mind for years, with encouragement from friends and family. Yet, it always seemed to take a back seat amidst the hustle and bustle of life—too much work, too many hobbies, and, truth be told, a fondness for sleep! But now, with the opportunity to navigate the globe by sailboat and discover remote corners of the earth, I couldn’t resist diving headfirst into the world of blogging.

So here we are, totally thrilled and nervous to embark on this voyage and eager to share our journey through this blog with family, friends, and fellow adventurers like yourself.
